Lots of good stuff coming out of E3 this year. Though I wasn't actually there like Mike (lucky bastard!) I thought I'd share my thoughts on a few things.
I'm looking forward to the new Metal Gear games announced, Metal Gear Solid Rising and Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker as they look to expand on the franchise a bit. As expected I can't wait to get my hands on Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 (It's not really called "6" but I'm gonna call it that.) CoD6:MW2 for short. Pronounced "codsizmwtoo!" And the reworked Splinter Cell: Conviction looks amazing. The plot centers around Sam's revenge for his daughter's death (who was killed by a drunk driver before the events of the last game, Double Agent). I found it kind of odd how they just skated over that issue in the last game. Left 4 Dead 2, predictably has me anxious. New Super Mario Bros. Wii looks fun a all hell (co-op!) and I'm all for Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Microsoft's body-motion sensing Project Natal has a lot of potential, and has me excited for what can be done with it. As does Sony's attempt at motion control, which seems to work REALLY good.
But what really got me excited was a game for the PS3 I've never heard anything about until I saw the trailer during Sony's press conference. The game is called The Last Guardian and...well, I'll just let the trailer speak for itself.
Awesome E3 overall.
Looks like it should be called "The Last Freakish Result of a Giant Wolf F&*$ing a Giant Ostrich."
